Meg doesn't have time to read the book with the escape plan in it. Meg and Bob are married. The pantomime is held. Doreen, Judy, Mouse and Irene Nagle go down to the tunnel. Lizzie follows with Doreen's teddy. Bea goes down to get Lizzie back. The tunnel collapses and Irene is killed. Judy and Mouse are on the "freedom side". Bea, Lizzie and Doreen are trapped on the "prison side".

MAIN EVENTS IN THIS EPISODE
Judy and Mouse manage to get out into freedom. Bea, Lizzie and Doreen are stuck in the tunnel and can't get out. The escape is discovered after a while, but it is believed that all six (including Irene Nagle) got away. Gillespie, Erica and the officers blame each other for the escape. Judy and Mouse split up. Mouse is soon arrested and brought back to Wentworth. Bea, Lizzie and Doreen in the tunnel begin to fear that they will never be found.

Mouse shows the officers to the tunnel and Bea, Lizzie and Doreen can be rescued. Judy gets a lift with a man who shows to be Wally Wallace. She is invited to stay in his cottage for a while. Elizabeth is taken away from Chrissie on her first birthday. Chrissie is transferred to another block. Anne is transferred to mental hospital. Wally says he knows Judy is an escapee from Wentworth.
